Dirty Cat Studio is a Melbourne-based visual media studio specialising in video production, walkthroughs, and spatial storytelling. Our mission is simple: to bridge the real and digital worlds. We take physical spaces, lived moments, and on‑site experiences and transform them into clear, engaging visual stories that help people understand, remember and re‑imagine the environments that matter most.
Founded by designer and multimedia producer Kevin Jatney, the studio grew from a background in construction documentation and creative digital work. With experience capturing space through DSLR cameras, drones, LiDAR and other digital tools, Dirty Cat Studio blends technical precision with a creative, design‑led approach.
From architectural walkthroughs to commercial real-estate marketing, from construction training media to creative video pieces, the studio sits at the intersection of creativity and utility. We work with both imaginative storytellers and industry professionals—providing visuals that are aesthetically compelling while also practical, informative and grounded in the real world.

The Name
Finding a memorable business name is rarely easy — especially today, when social platforms and domains are saturated or snapped up by bots within seconds. Dirty Cat Studio’s name arrived in an unexpectedly perfect moment.
One afternoon, Jatney’s adopted Burmese, Theo, wandered in from outside, paws still dusty, and jumped straight onto the keyboard. He paused, stared directly at Jatney, and in that still moment the name clicked. A quick search across domain registrars and social platforms revealed it was completely unclaimed. It felt like a sign — a small spark of chaos and personality pointing the brand in exactly the right direction.
Dirty Cat Studio was born from that moment of serendipity: a reminder that creativity often comes from the unexpected.
